
Alex Krutz
Alex Krutz is the Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) of Manufacturing for the Office of Manufacturing Industries at the International Trade Administration (ITA) within the U.S. Department of Commerce. The Office of Manufacturing Industries is the U.S. Government’s leading advocate for advancing the competitive position of U.S. manufacturing industries in the global marketplace. In his role as DAS, Alex leads four offices comprised of the Office of Energy and Environmental Industries (OEEI), the Office of Information and Communication Technologies (OICT), the Office of Health Industries (OHI) and the Office of Transportation and Machinery (OTM). Key priorities include advancing the Administration’s trade priorities under the America First Trade Policies and Executive Orders.
Prior to joining ITA, Alex was the founder and Managing Director of Patriot Industrial Partners, an Aerospace and Defense advisory firm that specializes in Value Creation, Performance Improvement and Supply Chain Optimization. In this business, Alex transformed operational, quality and financial performance in under-performing companies.
Alex has over 22 years of Aerospace and Defense experience in the areas of general management, operations, supply chain and program management. His career includes being a Veteran of the U.S. Army who started his career serving overseas as a Commissioned Officer and front-line leader. He has held leadership positions at U.S. and multinational companies as well as consulted for airframe Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), the supply chain and private equity groups. He has worked on hundreds of projects throughout North America, Europe, South Africa and Southeast Asia spanning engines, structures and large complex assemblies.
Alex holds a Masters in Business Administration from San Diego State, a Masters in Management from Webster University and a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from the University of Kansas.
