Office of Information and Communication Technologies

The Office of Information and Communication Technologies (OICT) is dedicated to increasing the global competitiveness and exports of U.S. information and communications technologies (ICT) hardware.

We do this by leveraging in-depth sector expertise through industry and trade analysis, trade promotion, and reducing or eliminating trade barriers. The Tech Team covers telecommunications, including 5G, 6GHz spectrum, broadband technologies, and subsea cables; other ICT hardware; artificial intelligence infrastructure; cyber security; quantum computing; photonics; and electronics manufacturing services. The Semiconductor Team leads much of ITA’s work related to semiconductor supply chains and is closely engaged in semiconductor work across the Commerce Department and the U.S. interagency.
