Background: The U.S. Department of Commerce's Export Achievement Certificate recognizes companies that are business clients of the Commerce Department's U.S. Commercial Service, and that have used their services to make their first export sale or open new foreign markets.

Lemna International is an infrastructure project development company operating worldwide. The company develops and implements turnkey infrastructure projects focusing on the environment, energy, and transportation sectors. Among Lemna's many successful projects was the first joint project between an American company and a Chinese partner for a water treatment facility - the Guangzhou Lemna Xilang Wastewater Treatment Co., Ltd. Recently Lemna signed a contract with the Uzbekistan Railways Company for the electrification and rehabilitation of two "Silk Rout" rail segments. Lemna worked with the Department of Commerce's Commercial Service on these and other projects throughout the world. The Commercial Services' Minneapolis U.S. Export Assistance Center and its overseas Posts have provided market research and intelligence, and advocacy that have assisted Lemna in growing their business.

The U.S. Commercial Service is a Commerce Department agency that helps small and midsize U.S. businesses sell their products and services globally. The Minneapolis U.S. Export Assistance Center is part of the agency's worldwide network, which includes 108 U.S. Export Assistance Centers throughout the United States and more than 150 international offices. Last year, the agency helped U.S. companies generate $34 billion in export sales. For more information on the U.S. Commercial Service, please visit www.buyusa.com.
