FACT SHEET -- Antidumping Duty Investigations:

Certain Polyester Staple Fiber from Korea and Taiwan

On March 23, 2000, the Department of Commerce announced the final determinations in the antidumping duty investigations of certain polyester staple fiber from Korea and Taiwan. Since then, we have corrected clerical errors made in the final determination calculations.

PETITIONERS:

E. I. DuPont de Nemours*, Inc.; Arteva Specialities S.a.r.l., d/b/a KoSa; Wellman, Inc.;
and, Intercontinental Polymers, Inc.

*E. I. DuPont de Nemours is not a petitioner in the Taiwan case.

CASE CALENDAR:

Petitions filed: April 2, 1999

DOC initiation: April 22, 1999

ITC preliminary injury determination: May 17, 1999

DOC preliminary determinations: October 29, 1999

DOC final determinations: March 23, 2000

ITC final determinations: May 5, 2000

As a result of the International Trade Commission (ITC) affirmative final injury determination on May 5, 2000, the Department will issue duty orders covering all companies with above de minimis margins.
