Preliminary Determination of Sales at Less Than Fair Value:
Honey from Argentina and the People's
Republic of China
On Monday, May 7, 2001, the Department of Commerce will announce
its preliminary determinations in the above-referenced antidumping
duty (AD) investigations. These investigations were initiated
on October 26, 2000. The period of investigation for Argentina
is July 1, 1999 through June 30, 2000 The period of investigation
for the People's Republic of China is January 1, 2000 through
June 30, 2000.

* U.S. law
allows this date to be extended.
** If Commerce
makes an affirmative final determination, the ITC must make a
final injury determination within 45 days. Date would change if
the ITA Final Determination is extended.
*** If the
ITC issues an affirmative final determination, Commerce will issue
an antidumping duty order within seven days of such determination.
The merchandise subject to these investigations is honey. The
technical language describing the scope of these investigations
will be included in the notice of initiation which will be published
in the Federal Register.
