On August 3rd, 2017, the U.S. Departments of Commerce and State leads in Angola commemorated the founding of the American Chamber of Commerce in Angola (AmCham Angola). U.S. Ambassador Helen La Lime delivered remarks, stressing the importance of the founding of the 19th AmCham on the continent as a voice for U.S. business interests in Angola.
On Thursday, February 26, 2015, Deputy Secretary Bruce Andrews hosted the inaugural U.S.-EAC Commercial Dialogue highlighting agency activities on U.S.-East Africa engagement.
Angola Agribusiness Roundtable Draws Strong Business Interest
Newly opened Commercial Service Angola hosted Texas A&M University’s Norman Borlaug Institute for International Agriculture Director Ambassador Bost for an agribusiness roundtable with 10 Angolan farm owners and agricultural equipment/input importers. This discussion yielded great interest in working with U.S. institutions and equipment providers to help expand Angola’s agricultural production capacity and productivity. CS and FAS presented their business services and programs to the Angolan company participants, highlighting one Angolan company attending for whom CS Angola already identified several U.S. seed suppliers.
