Stoelzle CEO Georg Feith hosted U.S. Embassy Austria Commercial Counselor Julia Rauner and Commercial Assistant Verena Gruber at the Group’s impressive glass production headquarters in Köflach, Styria.  A special congratulations to Stoelzle for expanding their global footprint to Monaca, Pennsylvania. July 23, 2021: Austria ranks 2nd fastest growing investor country in the U.S.

According to latest figures published by the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), Austria ranks as the 2nd fastest growing investor country in the U.S. for 2020, up from the #10 growth position. This tremendous 40% growth record reflects Austrian companies’ intensive focus on the U.S. market for their global expansion with Austrian investments recorded at $17.2 billion.

August 13 - September 1, 2021: European Forum Alpbach 2021 (EFA21)

Since 1945, the European Forum Alpbach, an interdisciplinary platform for science, politics, business and culture bringing together over 5.000 attendees from around the world has been addressing the relevant socio-political issues of our time within the framework of an annual conference in Alpbach, Tirol. This year’s edition has been placed under the general theme The Great Transformation. From August 27th to 29th, CS Austria’s Senior Commercial Specialist for Life Sciences, Environment and Energy, Marta Haustein, attended the 2021 Health Talks examining the interplay between security, finance, climate change and health.

 

August 26, 2021: Visit at eSquirrel

Michael Maurer, co-founder and CEO at eSquirrel, hosted CS Austria’s Robee Sallegue, our industry expert for the education sector, at their headquarters in Vienna. Founded in 2015, eSquirrel is one of the leading edTech startups in Austria offering customizable digital learning materials for students, businesses and educational institutions. Having participated in the Austrian Delegation to the SelectUSA Investment Summit 2021 as well as different accelerator programs, eSquirrel is currently fine-tuning their U.S. market entry strategy.

September 1, 2021: North Carolina’s Research Triangle Meets Austrian Business Representatives

September 9, 2021: Garden Reception in Honor of the Austrian Delegation to the 2021 SelectUSA Investment Summit

On September 9th, Charge d’Affaires Mario Mesquita hosted a reception in honor of the Austrian Delegation to the 2021 SelectUSA Investment Summit, which was among the largest worldwide. Delegates shared their experiences and best practice on successfully expanding in the U.S. market during this invigorating gathering. Austria ranks as the 2nd fastest growing source for FDI in the United States, a dynamic trend expected to continue in the year ahead. 

 

 

 

 

September 22, 2021: Reception in Honor of the American Chamber of Commerce in Austria

Charge d’Affaires Mario Mesquita hosted a reception in honor of the American Chamber of Commerce in Austria underlining the AmCham’s important role in advancing the dynamic of U.S.-Austria trade relations: the U.S. is Austria’s #2 export market and Austria has surged to become the U.S.’s 2nd fastest growing source country for foreign investment. We look forward to continued fruitful cooperation with the AmCham and its valued members who support economic growth in both of our countries.

October 6, 2021: Marketplace Food 

CS Austria’s Commercial Assistant Verena Gruber met with 11 Austrian food & beverage producers during the Marketplace Austria Food 2021 B2B Matchmaking Sessions organized by Advantage Austria in cooperation with Enterprise Europe Network Austria. With almost 100 Austrian producers and 150 international buyers, the event clearly reflected the diversity of the Austrian food & beverages sector and its degree of internationalization.

 

October 6, 2021: Visit at Rosenbauer in Leonding, Upper Austria

Rosenbauer Senior VP Josef Kern and North America Sales Manager Johannes Lehrer hosted U.S. Embassy Austria Commercial Counselor Julia Rauner and Commercial Specialist Jan Bruckner. A special thank you for Rosenbauer’s commitment to the U.S. market which is also reflected by the cooperation with Los Angeles Fire Department on electrically-powered fire trucks in the United States. This partnership is a tremendous example of the U.S. and Austria collaborating through clean technology and business to improve public safety and support economic growth in both of our countries.

 

October 7, 2021: Cybersecurity in Healthcare Briefing for the DACH Region

The timely briefing on cybersecurity in the healthcare sector in Europe and the United States with featured speakers from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the EU Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA), leading U.S. cybersecurity providers, and a panel discussion with German, Austrian, Swiss, and U.S. decision-makers attracted a high number of participants underlining the increasing threats posed by cybercrime and the need for cross-border and cross-institutional cooperation to efficiently counter these.

December 2, 2021: Deep Dive into the U.S. EdTech Market

The U.S. Commercial Service team in cooperation with EdTech Austria hosted a Deep Dive into the U.S. EdTech Market. A special thank you to all expert speakers from the U.S. Department of Education, the Arizona Department of Education, the Department of Commerce, SelectUSA, the U.S. Consulate in Vienna and Advantage Austria USA for providing such insightful information on current trends in the vast U.S. EdTech market and the opportunities it offers to European EdTech companies.
