Senior Obama Trade Official Announces Clean Technologies Trade Mission to India
WASHINGTON – Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Francisco Sánchez today announced he will lead a trade mission India, November 7-11, to promote U.S. goods and services within the clean technologies sector. Representatives from seven U.S. firms will visit New Dehli, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad.
“India is one of the fastest growing economies today,” said Sánchez. “As India diversifies and grows its energy sources and reduces carbon emissions to achieve sustained economic expansion, there is an opportunity for U.S. companies to sell their world class products and services to help reach those goals.”
This trade mission advances President Obama’s National Export Initiative which aims to double U.S. exports by the end of 2014, supporting economic and job growth. Participating firms will gain market insights, make industry contacts, solidify business strategies, and advance specific projects with the goal of increasing U.S. exports to India. The mission will include one-on-one business appointments with pre-screened potential buyers, agents, distributors, and joint venture partners; meetings with national and regional government officials; and networking events.
The following companies were selected for participation in the trade mission:
- A123 Systems, Inc. – Westborough, Mass.
- Advanced Power Systems International – Torrington, Conn.
- Amonix, Inc. – Seal Beach, Calif.
- Azure Power – San Ramon, Calif.
- Eskew+Dumez+Ripple – New Orleans, La.
