The Manufacture America event in West Virginia will be held on the campus of West Virginia University.

Manufacturing in West Virginia accounts for 11 percent of overall state GDP, down from 32 percent in 1965. In 2008, manufacturing output accounted for $6.6 billion.

In 2009, the manufacturing sector employed 51,000 workers. Manufacturing accounts for 7 percent of West Virginia employment.

Between 2002 and 2009, international exports from West Virginia more than doubled, growing by 115 percent. In 2009, exports from West Virginia were 14 percent lower than in 2008. However, in the first quarter of 2010 merchandise exports saw an increase of 23 percent compared to the same quarter in the previous year. During this period, exports of manufactured goods increased by 54 percent compared to the first quarter of 2009, and accounted for 58 percent of overall state merchandise exports.
